The Kubera Principle

The Kubera Principle

The Book That Will Change the World

In this video, I share 4 salary negotiations tips to avoid once you get a job offer:

1. Not negotiating at all – 73% of companies expect a job candidate to negotiate but only 55% do(CareeeBuilder). Don’t leave money on the table because you think your job offer will be rescinded, they expect you to negotiate!

2. Giving a low ball salary expectations because you didn’t do the research – go to Glassdoor.com right away you apply for the job to get the salary range and be prepared to answer “what are your salary expectations” during your phone screen with the recruiter. Get comfortable talking about money

3. Focusing only on salary – you can negotiate PTO or vacation time, your job title, remote work assignment, your bonus percentage, relocation and more. Look beyond your paycheck every 2 weeks when negotiating.

4. Not asking for more money after the initial counter – let’s say you get a job offer for $50k but you counter for $75k based on your research via email. They come back with $60k. Instead of taking the $60k, ask AGAIN but this time focus on a sign on bonus of $15k to get $75k in total compensation in year 1.
